Majorca is actually the epicentre of tourism related knowledge. Majorca is just two and a half hours flying time from London, making it a firm favourite with the British package holiday industry. There are also regular ferries and flights from the Spanish mainland. Majorca is among the top Mediterranean vacation spot for sun-starved blue-collar northern Europeans. The coastline is littered with cheap resort hotels, and in the summer, you hear more German, Dutch, Swedish, Cockney, and whatnot spoken than Catalan.

Pastry shops are a must and you simply have to try the sweetest of confections, the Balearics' gastronomic pride and joy, ensaimadas, spiralled flaky pastries which are delicious fur breakfast.

In a contrast to the Spanish mainland there is some great Majorca Property here on the island as its not too over built and the area is still offering great prospects for growth.
