Where are Pat and Claudio?

April 7, 2005

(Lack Of) Post Update

Filed under: Site Updates — Claudio @ 2:58 pm

Hey Everyone,

I know Pat and I have let ya down in not posting more often, but we’re more than busy with our work to win executive positions in the City College student government. Pat and I are a part of the team running the campaign, which targets over 10,000 students. Essentially, we’re running for government in a community the equivalent size of most town in the Midwest.

Check out our blog work for the election: Vote AAA!

Expect more posts and the completion of the redesign sometime after the election is up later this month.

State Senator Joe Bruno

Filed under: The Party — Claudio @ 2:58 pm

Today I attended a luncheon at a fancy hotel in Midtown. I was a guest (and was recognized as a Truman Scholar) along with my good friend the Rhodes Scholar and my other friend the Intel Winner. We sat with the Chancellor of CUNY and the president of Hunter.

The guest speaker of the event was State Senator Joe Bruno. My friends and I were able to speak to him briefly and take some pictures with him. My impressions?

Sen. Bruno is a good guy, and an even better politician.

His speech was well-done: he spoke on the passage of the budget (the first one passed on time since the year I was born), and of all the resources “he” secured for the city. Funny guy, gifted political rhetor.

Eh, that’s all I have to say about that. Now I’m back to class (Critical Theory); Adorno, Horkheimer, and the Culture Industry beckon.

Still Around

Filed under: News and Views — Pat @ 8:58 am

Yeah, we are still here. My redesign of the site has pretty much stopped, as we have started our student government election campaign. We have a blog for that - http://www.voteaaa.com - which should come as no surprise, since Claudio and I are on the slate.

I just have one quick thing to say before going back to studying: Spring has sprung in New York City. In the immortal words of Robin Williams, “…the girls are taking the twins out for a walk and leaving the leash at home” (or something to that effect). I love NYC in the non-wintertime.
