New Blog

Filed under: Site Updates — Claudio @ 4:52 pm

Here is my new home on the Internets. To figure out my moniker, just think of the combination of my ethnicity and the first name of my favorite and City College’s only Supreme Court justice.

Schooled.

Hope to see y’all there. Plenty of 1L exploits will be shared, te promiso.

Revival!!!

Filed under: Site Updates — Claudio @ 12:56 pm

Okay, so as reported, I’m gearing up for the summer before I head off to Cambridge. The decision-making process ended up being more confusing than I laid it out below; I was eventually rejected at Yale Law (never wrote their required 250-word Statement) but accepted at Stanford Law. I flew out to Stanford, had a ball, and considered it for a moment. Eventually, my desire to remain on the East Coast and the prospect of being at HLS with so many friends I’d made at the Admitted Students Weekend swayed me.

I will be posting again regularly when I finally graduate — June 5. Until then, I need to stop procrastinating and write my thesis (on, surprise!, conservative blogs).

After June 5 I will be moving into a dorm at George Washington University in DC and interning with the Department of Justice. They know better than to trust me with anything important, so don’t worry too much.

So, here’s the heads-up. Yours truly will be back in full effect in early-June.

Cheers,
Claudio

Apologies

Filed under: Site Updates — Claudio @ 1:30 pm

Haven’t posted much. Crazy last week in Budapest. Arrived back in NYC on Wednesday. Been catching up and fighting jet lag since. Attending the T(v)RWC reunion yesterday as Pat and I got BBQ at Virgil’s. Will be locked in my office at school working on law school apps from Monday on. Expect much of the same until post-LSAT (October 1). Love y’all.

On Spain and the Blogroll

Filed under: News and Views, Site Updates, Terrorism, War on Terrorism — Claudio @ 8:10 am

Given the brilliant strategy laid out by Spanish PM Zapatero and commented on below, I guess we should be reassured to know that Spain has sent its terrorism expert (they have only one!?) to the UK.

The hat tip goes to a new member of our in-the-city blogroll: Bronx Pundit.

Welcome!

Blogroll Update

Filed under: Conservatism, Site Updates, Pop Culture 101 — Claudio @ 5:02 am

Prompted by Karol, I must say there is little more I enjoy more than politics and women.

So of course I have to blogroll this blog, Atlas Shagged, which deals with the best of both worlds…

Conservative politics and scantily-clad women.

The Ease of WP

Filed under: Site Updates — Pat @ 3:00 am

As you may have noticed I added all of the posts we have done for the last couple of months while the site was using MovableType. I am looking into adding all of the posts from the old WP, which I have saved in a MySql database.

In fact, if there is anyone out there with MySql knowledge who knows how to merge two databases, please email me!

Spring Break Bloggin’

Filed under: Site Updates — Claudio @ 8:55 pm

Hey Everyone,

Like Pat said, ’tis Spring Break and WE ARE FINALLY RESTING! After a really tough and demanding campaign for student government, my Truman Scholarship media blitz, work, six classes at three campuses, and a million and one other things, it is finally time to kick back Down South.

I’m sitting here watching the Mets whoop up on the local favorite Braves down here in Carolina. It is such a lovely thing.

Not, though, nearly as lovely as this. The only thing better than running against the scorned ex-girlfriend you equipped for politics in a student government race? WHOOPING HER BEHIND!

Executive Vice-President

Charles Simpkins AAA 570
Valeria Alcena A1 436
Constance Jordan-Cooley CITY UNITY 381

Revenge is the sweetest thing next to getting…um, elected.

Hello again

Filed under: Site Updates — Pat @ 11:59 pm

Alright so I don’t even remember writing the previous entry. Give me a break, I had just got home from celebrating, it was late, I was slightly inebriated, etc.

Anyway, we are on SPRING BREAK. Claudio is in North Carolina with his family, and I will be attending some Mets games and lounging around the house. I should try and catch up with some reading for Corporate Finance and Money & Banking but I know thats a longshot.

Maybe I will post something this week, but more the likely TvRWC is going to be pretty silent until May. The past week of campaigning, school, and not-sleeping has made me ready for a week of relaxation, laziness, and sleep. Why my school’s spring break is into May I have no idea, but I will gladly take time off from school when it is offered to me.

Schools out…

(Lack Of) Post Update

Filed under: Site Updates — Claudio @ 2:58 pm

Hey Everyone,

I know Pat and I have let ya down in not posting more often, but we’re more than busy with our work to win executive positions in the City College student government. Pat and I are a part of the team running the campaign, which targets over 10,000 students. Essentially, we’re running for government in a community the equivalent size of most town in the Midwest.

Check out our blog work for the election: Vote AAA!

Expect more posts and the completion of the redesign sometime after the election is up later this month.
